چکیده

The present study investigated the high-speed deformation behavior of 6Ni–0.2N–0.1C steel. 0.2% proof stress (0.2% PS) steel increased with an increase in strain rate () but tensile strength (TS) indicated almost same value at above 10−1 s−1. Uniform elongation (U.El) largely decreased . TS and U.El 103 s−1 were as those SUS304 When effect on mechanical properties was compared between steels, dependence PS larger that different 100 And decrease discussed from viewpoint change flow maximum load point estimated results proposed austenite phase hardly transformed into deformation-induced martensite (α′) up to are influenced by higher α′. It is difficult for produce TRIP high rates because martensitic transformation suppressed.

Microstructure Evolution during Tensile Deformation of a Nanostructured Bainitic Steel

In situ neutron diffraction experiment was used during tensile testing at room temperature to examine the changes on the percentage and texture of both ferrite and austenite in a nanocrystalline bainitic steels transformed at two different temperatures 200°C and 300oC for different times to achieve the same phase percentages. Both samples showed an inadequate capability of austenite to transfor...

Damage Behavior in Modern Automotive High Strength Dual Phase Steels During Uniaxial Tensile Deformation

In the present research, damage mechanisms during room temperature uniaxial tensile testing of two different modern high strength dual phase steels,DP780 and DP980, were studied. Detailed microstructural characterization of the strained and sectioned samples was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results revealed that interface decohesion, especially at the triple junctions of...

High-speed tensile test instrument.

A novel high-speed tensile test instrument is described, capable of measuring the mechanical response of elastomers at strain rates ranging from 10 to 1600 s(-1) for strains through failure. The device employs a drop weight that engages levers to stretch a sample on a horizontal track. To improve dynamic equilibrium, a common problem in high speed testing, equal and opposite loading was applied...

Hot Deformation Behavior of 17-7 PH Stainless Steel

To investigate the hot deformation behavior of 17-7 PH stainless steel, hot compression tests were carried out at the temperatures of 950, 1050 and 1150 oC and strain rates of 0.001 s-1 to 0.1 s-1. Accordingly, the hot working behavior was studied by the analyses of flow stress curves, work hardening rate versus stress curves, exponent- type constitutive equations and deformed microstructures. ...
